Mother Is Home

Good news! Mom was released from the hospital today and is settling in back at home. She had been missing her two pussy cats.

The conclusion seems to be a lack of blood flow to the brain. This has been a problem for years, manifesting itself in dizziness when she stands up. Some of us have experienced that dizziness on occassion, it just happens to her a lot. She is on a new medication and has to wear tight compression stockings to keep the blood from settling in her legs.

There were quite a few funny stories from the hospital. I should have written them down so I could remember. One of the best is the doctor giving her a cognative test by asking questions like, "Do you know where you are?" and "Do you know who's President?" He asked, "Do you know what year it is?" She looks at the calendar hanging on the wall and says very matter-of-factly, "Yes, it's 2007." She may not have much of a memory but I thought that was pretty clever and the doctor didn't even know she did it until I pointed it out to him.
