These Ain't L'eggs

Part of controlling the lightheadedness that Mom has been experiencing was doctor's orders to wear compression stockings. These are very tight stockings designed to keep the blood from rushing to her legs when she stands up. This, in theory, will keep the blood more available for her brain and keep her from fainting.

She complained about them from the time they were put on at the hospital. Yes, they are tight...they are supposed to be! But you can't convince her of that. By the time I got up this morning, she had pulled them off. Last night, I presume, after I went to bed.

My brother was successful at encouraging her to put them on at lunch time and he assisted her. We have a kind of "good cop, bad cop" routine we use. I'm the good cop that coaxes and cajoles her, and he is the bad cop that is stern when all else fails. It is like a game to get her to cooperate.

I just hope the stockings stay on!

So glad to hear your Mom is back home with some spirit. I am an only child so don't have the advantage of good cop, bad cop, so I just have had to develop a split personality. My post tomorrow will have some Dad related items..
