There's Nothing But Crap On

Mother dear was exasperated by the offerings on television last night.

She didn't like 60 Minutes.

She didn't like Funniest Home Videos.

She didn't like The Amazing Race.

I suppose there aren't very many folks in Hollywood producing content for the 80-year-old Alzheimer's patient demographic.

She might actually like something in the teen or younger category? Not sure what stage of Alz she is in but my dad loves to watch cartoons. He will sit there and just stare at the tv while it's playing. Like, Backyardagans, Yo Gabba Gabba, etc.

That's a good idea. She doesn't seem to complain when I watch Spongebob Squarepants!

She also likes Dancing with the Stars and American Idols...except the judges. When Simon Cowell starts talking, she always complains, "I can't stand that asshole!" :)

My mom started having trouble watching tv because she had a hard time following any sort of plot. She'd get especially frustrated after a commercial break because it would be like tuning into a brand new show because she'd forget what she was watching/what was going on.

I agree shows like Dancing with the Stars, American Idol or anything with singing/dancing were much more entertaining for her. And soccer. I don't know why, but she loved soccer.

my mum has trouble following any plot or story, she really likes kids animated movies though at the moment, thats about all that keeps her attention.
