The Crazy Salt Monster

I left this tidbit as a comment in the last post but thought it would make a funny post on its own.

Saturday was a funny night for watching television. An old episode of Star Trek was on...the one with the monster (see above) that has suction cups on its hands to suck the salt out of humans. Anyway, the monster's true appearance is revealed at the end and then the next scene is the Enterprise in orbit over the orange planet below.

Mom: I don't know what the hell kind of joint this is with crazy people flying around the universe.

The thing I noticed was that, although she probably thought the salt creature was real, Mom knew that this was supposed to be taking place in outer space.
