Realization But No Fear

Mom:If you move back to California, it's gonna be awful lonely around here.

I'm not moving back, but interesting that she didn't seem worried in her statement. My brother tells me that when he is alone with her, she always expresses concern about what is going to happen to her when I leave. On some level, perhaps more than I realize, she knows the predicament she/we is/are in.

I'm glad that she doesn't have fear about it. H has so much fear right now about him (maybe) moving that it is hard for me to see him so afraid.

On the other hand, a few days ago, he sent me an email that said, among other things, "Slowly, every so slowly I slip further and further into a world that there is no way out. It is frustrating for me getting there, but from what I've seen, it seems to be quite pleasant for those that are there."

No fear about the dementia, just about possible change.
