I've been trying to put programs on the television that don't have a plot because mom can't follow those types of shows. Reality programs and game shows fit her mental capabilities pretty well as I mentioned in my last post about Wheel of Fortune.I love American Idol and it's a perfect formula that is easy to understand. Except mom can't stand the judges!
About Randy Jackson: "Who the hell does he think he is?"
About Simon Cowell: "Oh, there's that asshole. I can't stand that guy!"
On this week's show, after Simon made some disparaging comments about one of the contestants, mother dear started booing, hissing, and yelling at him!
It's like I get to watch two shows in one!

Seriously, though, I know what you mean about the dramas. When mine started looking mystified by "Murder She Wrote" I knew we'd turned a corner...

My mom has been watching AI with us, too. She gets frustrated, too, because she thinks they should only say nice, encouraging things. We tell her each time that that's part of the show. I think I'll try to find Wheel of Fortune for her. That has to beat Fox News for hours on end!
