Sugar Moustache And Raspberry Beard

During lent, the local grocery carries Polish confections called Paczki (Germans call them Berliners and Austrians call them Krapfen). We have a rather large Polish and Ukranian community here that settled around the turn of the 20th century.

Essentially, Paczki are jelly doughnuts. Most are covered with confectioners sugar or glaze, and they are filled with fruit jams or cremes.

This morning mother dear came into the den with a confectioners sugar moustache after biting into a Paczki. They are rather large and she asked me to cut it in half for her. I did, and she finished it up. When I went to take the plate back into the kitchen, she had raspberry jam all over her chin. Too cute. I got giggling, which got her giggling, and I cleaned her up with a moist paper towel.

What a fantastic blog ! And thanks to ASM for leading me to you.
I wish you all and every strength, and hope you have - notice - and ENJOY lots and lots more moments like this one. Such moments are so, so precious. Enjoy - and remember - these are the moments that will help to sustain you through the dark, dismal and scary bits - but THESE - the sunshine moments - are just so very precious. And please - PLEASE - take the steps to get some support and give yourself breathing space. You may feel it's not yet necessary - but NOW it will be possible for a support person to make a relationship which will help them to be there later on - when you will NEED it ....(remembering that 'need' and 'want' may not feel at all related......)
