Goldilocks

Sometimes mother dear sleeps on the couch but most nights makes it in to bed. Whenever she walks by her room and she sees the covers rumpled up, she asks, "Who's been sleeping in my bed?" I always laugh to myself that she sounds like
Goldilocks.

Yesterday, our oil-burning furnace quit. We had no heat last night on one of the coldest nights of the year. It was 15 degrees F outside and 47 degrees F inside. Brrrrrr. My teeth were chattering.

I put an electric heater in mom's bedroom and put a couple of extra blankets on top of the down comforter to keep her nice and warm.

It was about 3 in the morning when she yelled out for me to help her.

Me: What's the matter?

Mom: There's a bear on top of me!

Me: That's not a bear. I put some extra blankets on you to keep you warm. It's okay. Go back to sleep.

Why couldn't she be Sleeping Beauty?

Good thing the mattress was comfortable, or it could have been "The Princess and the Pea". Does your Mom usually sleep through the night? Mine gets up at all hours.

Mom does wander around a lot at night. I had made a vow to sleep upstairs to get better rest.but the mattress was so hard I ended up with less sleep and a back ache to boot!
